A statement from the artist

I'm looking for black or indigenous visual artists and musicians to bring more to this experience. If you're interested, please contact me at rjagnow@gmail.com.

I first launched a variant of this game back in 2015 in response to the Charlie Hebdo shooting. It grew from a feeling that an impossible war was being waged. On one side is violence and on the other side are words — just words! How can words possibly compete with violence?

At times, those words seem futile, but as long as we keep moving the discussion forward, our words can have a real impact — sometimes in unforeseen ways.

Following the shooting of George Floyd, the game felt more relevant than ever, so I updated it a bit and ported it to work with modern browsers. My fear is that the game will be relevant again next year and the year after that, for decades to come. Have we finally reached a tipping point? Will our words finally force politicians and police departments to follow through with actions?
